Kraaifontein, Northern Suburbs, Cape Town.
Kraaifontein caters for convenience and community.
The suburb originated in 1869 when a railway station was created there as a result of farming in the area. It was dubbed "Kraaifontein Junction" after the numerous crows found in the vicinity ("kraai" translates to "crow" in English). I think the spirit of the area has been captured in the name: "junction":
It is here where families find their homes and places of peace.
Kraaifontein offers older family homes, newer family homes as well as modern, more compact townhouses and apartments for first-time buyers or those leading fast-paced lives looking for a lock-up and go. It allows those working in Stellenbosch, Paarl, Kuilsriver, and Wellington easy access to the highways, while ensuring affordable and investment-worthy prices.
In terms of facilities, Kraaifontein boasts incredible malls such as Okavango Crossing Shopping Complex and Cape Gate, as well as community shopping centers like Uitzicht Shopping Centre, Pinehurst Centre, and Kraaifontein Shopping Centre in Brighton Road.
Top-class healthcare facilities are plentiful, making the area an obvious choice for those concerned about established and easily accessible healthcare.
Moving away from logistics, Kraaifontein ensures old-school charm and community living. Large family homes and wide streets allow children to play while parents can relax in gardens that they know have not broken the bank. Areas to consider when wanting to buy property in Kraaifontein area are: Langeberg Ridge and Langeberg Heights (both very close to Cape Gate shopping center), Viking Village, Zonnendal, Joostenberg, Windsor Park Estate, Windsor Park, Bonnie Brae, Bonnie Brook, and the popular Zoo Park.
Some property stats: What is interesting is that +-50% of recent buyers in the newer areas like Joostenberg and Zonnendal are between 18 years and 35 years old, whilst buyers between 36-49 years old are the majority (+-57%) in the older areas like Bonnie Brae and Bonnie Brook where bigger, more pricey homes are found.
Homes for sale in Kraaifontein (in the above-mentioned areas) can be found from R1400 000 up to R3450 000 (in Langeberg Ridge) and flats for sale in Kraaifontein from R750 000.

Spacious play areas are also close at hand, with places like Bugz Playpark, and restaurants like Heroes Restaurant Brackenfell (Cape Gate) and Rocco Mammas to mention a few. Entertainment and sports facilities are on your doorstep: Kraaifontein shooting club, Kraaifontein RC Racing tracks, Winelands Airport, Kraaifontein football Club, Kraaifontein bowling club, Kraaifontein golf club, and many more.
